Know that when you die, your kindness will forever remain in the hearts and minds of the people you touch……

It’s the law of cause and effect, I’m a reaction to what the world has categorized me to be, I’m only a reaction of other’s actions…. I reflect everything you wanted me to be and everything you thought I wouldn’t be. I’m applying reverse stereotypes to the psychology. I remain neutral with an underlying movement in the race I call life… When you look at me, it’s only a reflection of your own mind confusing yourself by trying to classify me.

北京五道口的“小联合国”风情

五道口因身处高校区，尤其周围有堪称“小联合国”的北京语言大学，不同肤色的老外们渐渐成为五道口的重要顾客群，市民把它视为北京最具异国风情的地带之一。

走在五道口，可随意听到老外骑着老式的二八自行车，嘴里不断练习口语“讨厌、倒霉”，看到头发染成黄色、灰色的日韩留学生匆匆行走的身影。他们或许刚从旁边的“雕刻时光”喝完咖啡，或许正赶着去“光合作用”书店看外国书籍。有人说，如何突破语言障碍来彼此融合，是来自不同文化背景的五道口老外们最大的梦想。留学生聚集一起为汉语水平考试(HSK)忙得焦头烂额，成为这里最常见的经典镜头。

随着各类带有异国风味的餐饮连锁店的登陆，名目繁多的专卖店的开张，已经使得过去作为摇滚文化中心、颇具愤青气质的五道口一夜之间变得小资起来，国际化韵味十足。

在五道口的超市边上，一对年轻夫妇开了家颇负盛名的小杂货铺，经营项目广泛。他们的朋友从巴基斯坦、俄罗斯、印度、日本，甚至非洲收集了各种独特饰品，价格自然不菲。来自日本的折纸娃娃，精致得不敢触摸；最贵的商品是非洲的皮鼓；巴基斯坦的整幅织锦，配上特有的民族乐器，挂在家里就像进了帐篷一样。

由两位艺术家经营的“卡瓦小镇”，每周的音乐演出源自西班牙的弗拉门哥吉他、哈萨克斯坦的民族音乐。客人可品味保质期只有七天德国进口的醇美鲜啤，比利时修道院酿制的经典啤酒，以及英国的宝汀顿等世界五星级啤酒。

五道口有专业的韩国超市、按摩院、网吧、酒吧，在旧书市场可淘到韩国原版杂志，服装店里可找到所有的韩国知名品牌和国际名牌的韩国版。令人称奇的是，最新最全的韩国歌曲CD在韩国上市一周后就在这里的音像店出现。一位知情者披露，韩剧在本国只有录像带而没有VCD碟，所以在五道口时常会看到这样有趣的现象：韩国留学生采购大量的韩国VCD及CD带回国。

最有意思的是这里所有韩国料理店的营业时间和韩国相仿，一般从下午五点直至次日凌晨。附近的韩国留学生三五成群地到料理店吃家乡菜，喝酒聊天直至深夜。店名为“舍廊坊”的店主是位韩国大叔，留学生公认这里料理最正宗，堪比韩国国内高水平。语言大学北门的一个路边小摊，卖一种名叫鱼饼的韩国零食，小摊生意火爆，据说鱼饼老板一冬天的收入就足以维持一年的生计。

五道口独特的异国情调，成为京城一道亮丽的风景，吸引着时尚的人潮，渐渐产生浓厚的五道口情结。
